Auto
Barn began as H&M Auto Parts of Brooklyn, NY in 1957.
This store as well as Globe, our first import-only store, were entirely
dedicated to the wholesale trade. In
1964, the business expanded to Long Island with the addition of wholesale stores
in
Freeport
and
Lynbrook
. To service our growing group of
stores as well as other independent Jobbers, Rodi Automotive Inc., a Warehouse
Distributor, was established at that time.
As the do-it-yourself retail market grew during the
1970’s more stores we opened which were designed to attract
both the professional installer as well as the
do-it-yourselfer. With the opening
of our seventh location in 1980, the name “Auto Barn” was adopted and all of
our stores were redesigned with a consistent Auto Barn Superstore format.
At the same time, a 50,000 square foot distribution center was
built in
Port Washington
which serves as our corporate headquarters.
This warehouse stocks over 35,000 name-brand parts and accessories
making us one of New York's largest auto parts & accessories retailers and
wholesalers.

information provided by the customer, including any shipping and
handling costs incurred due to undeliverable orders, will be charged to

Why are your shipping charges set up this
way?
AutoBarn.com does not use shipping charges as a means to
make extra money and we don't want to trick you by hiding the charges in
the cost of the items. So, in order to attempt to make the charges
simple to calculate and fair we have implemented a tiered rate
structure.
What Countries do you ship to?
In
addition to Canada, we
can now accept credit card orders from the following countries:
Australia, Barbados, Belgium, Bermuda, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Greece,
Guam, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, New Zealand,
Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago and the United Kingdom.
If your country is not listed above, check back at a later
date to see if we changed our shipping policy. A minimum purchase of $100 is required and
customer will pay actual shipping charges (see below for customs policy). Orders for these countries that are less than $100 US will be cancelled.
Orders placed using an American Express credit card will be shipped as
soon as billing information is verified. For all other credit
cards please fax a copy (front and back) of your credit card, along with
a picture I.D. in order to verify identity. Please note: Actual
shipping charges will be emailed to the customer after the order is placed but
before it is shipped.
When shipping your order outside the US and US territories, you may be subject to import taxes which are levied when your package reaches your country. Additional charges that may apply for customs clearance must be paid by the
customer. We have no control over these tariffs, and therefore cannot predict what they may be. Please contact your local customs office for further inquiries. Moreover, when ordering from AutoBarn.com, you are considered the
importer of record and consequently, you must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.

How long will it take to get my
products?
This varies based on your location (we are on the east
coast), product availability and shipping method. If all the products on
your order are in stock then it will usually ship within 1-2 business days.
Saturday and Sunday do not count as transit days. Ground delivery can take anywhere from 1-5 business days
after we ship the item
depending on your location. Some items may be "drop-shipped" directly
from the manufacturer. Most drop-shipments are sent via Ground UPS or FedEX and
generally arrive within 7-10 business days.
How long will it take to get 2nd Day Air orders?
If all the products on
your order are in stock then it will usually ship within 1-2 business
days. 2nd Day Air delivery will be received on the second business day
after it is shipped. (Example: An item that is ordered on
Wednesday and in stock, most likely WILL NOT be received
by Friday. If it is shipped Thursday, it should be received by
Monday.) Some items do not qualify for 2nd Day Air, if your
order contains one of these items, you will be notified, refunded the
additional fee and your order will be shipped with our standard
shipping.
What if I pay by check or money
order?
Please allow an additional 1-2 days to process orders that are paid
for pay check or money order.
What if one item will delay the entire
order?
If you have a larger order and one item is going to cause a
significant delay, we will usually ship your order in two shipments. You
will not pay any extra shipping charges for the second shipment.
How will I know when my order has
shipped?
You will receive an e-mail confirmation that your order has
shipped on the day it ships out. If your order was shipped via UPS you
will also be given a tracking number.
Am I charged before my order
ships?
For non custom products, we do not charge your credit card until your order is ready
and available to ship. For custom made products, your credit card will
be charged when production begins on your product. If your order
is being drop shipped from the manufacturer, it will be charged at the
time the order is placed with the manufacturer. In this case,
shipping is usually immediate but is solely dependent on the
manufacturer. If your items are backordered then you will not
be charged until they are ready to ship.
Will you ship to a Forwarding Company?
Unfortunately, for security purposes, AutoBarn.com does not
