How we began
The idea for a commerce site specifically geared to "Dressing the Table" (Entertainment for the Table) grew out of a trip we took to Europe in the spring of 1999. During our stay visiting with friends and family, we began to re-appreciate the European art of lingering at meals and enjoying the moment. We also noticed the distinctive appeal of our hosts' "tools for the table." From decanters to dishware, corkscrews to coffee carafes, the details that set off the presentation of a meal were an integral part of our pleasure around the table. Discovering more exciting goods as we browsed through stores on the continent, we began to nurse the idea of an Internet site that could focus on table, bar and kitchen style with an emphasis on form as well as function. And so, Tabletools was born.
Today
Since that fateful trip, our team has researched manufacturers all over the world to bring together the most distinctive, fun-to-use selection of kitchen, bar and tableware available anywhere. We specialize in items that you won't find anywhere else and our selections are vast covering everything from the very unique and subjective to well-known, top brand manufacturers in each product area. At Tabletools, you'll also find easy-to-navigate pages, high-resolution images, detailed product information, and useful shopping services, such as Gift Ideas and Wish Lists. You can even create your own Gift Registry.

Most orders ship the next business day. If an item is on backorder, you will be notified by e-mail after you place your order. If you need to know before your order ships if an item is in stock, just give us a call at 888-211-6603.
Please keep in mind weekend pickup or delivery is not available for any shipping method, including expedited shipping methods, meaning any order placed after 5 pm EST Thursday will ship on Monday.
Please be aware these shipping time estimates assume the item is in stock, we experience no problems in processing your credit card and there are no address irregularities.
Expected UPS Ground Shipping Times (48 Contiguous States)
Orders that ship from our warehouse in Hamden, CT can be expected to reach the shipping address in the number of days specified below on the UPS map of the United States. Please be aware that this is only an estimate and these delivery times are not guaranteed by UPS or Tabletools.com.
Drop Ship Items
Some merchandise at Tabletools.com is shipped directly from the manufacturer. These "drop-ship" items have special requirements:
- Additional time is needed for order processing, so second-day and next-day shipping may not be available.
- Drop-ship items can be delivered only to addresses in the 48 contiguous United States.
- Drop-ship items cannot be gift wrapped and cannot include a gift message.
- We cannot guarantee delivery times of drop-ship merchandise.
Shipping and Handling Charges
Shipping and handling charges are based on merchandise total only, we have 5 levels of shipping available.
Shipping is free on orders with a merchandise total of $99 or greater. Orders with a merchandise total less than $99 will incur a $4.95 shipping charge.
This offer is valid only for ground shipping within the 48 contiguous US states, for orders shipping to a single address.
This offer is not valid on certain large and/or heavy items and certain drop-ship items. Invalid items will be charged according to our standard shipping matrix below.

Orders not meeting the requirements for Free/$4.95 Ground Shipping will incur charges based on the statements and matrix below.
There will be a $10.00 additional charge added to the amounts below for orders shipping to AK, HI, US Territories and APO/FPO addresses.
Larger items normally also incur additional charges (normally $25.00 additional) when shipping to AK, HI, US Territories and APO/FPOs, call for information.

Expedited Shipping
We can ship 3 Day Air, 2 Day Air, or Standard Overnight at an additional charge.
Orders placed by 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time will ship the next business day.
Please understand that expedited shipping times are actual transit times from the ship date, not the order date.
For example: An order placed before 5 p.m. EST Monday would ship on Tuesday.
This means an overnight package would arrive on Wednesday, a 2-Day package would arrive on Thursday, and a 3-Day package would arrive on Friday. See the chart below for expedited rates.

What about shipping to Canada?
We ship to Canada using the US Postal Service. See the chart below for applicable charges. Charges are based on merchandise total only. Please note that at this time Canadian shipments are currently taking up to 6 weeks via standard delivery. We cannot be responsible for any additional charges by Canadian duty or customs that may be applied to orders shipping to Canada. Larger items normally also incur additional charges (normally $25.00 additional) when shipping Canada, call for information. Please note that there is no free shipping to Canada.
